Frequently Asked Questions

What types of bodywork do you offer?

I offer bodywork and massage for deep relaxation and pain relief. I use techniques from India (Ayurveda) and from Hawaii (Lomi Lomi), and I now also offer a deeper tissue technique called Myofascial Energetic Release (MER).

What is Myofascial Energetic Release (MER)?

Myofascial Energetic Release is a unique bodywork method that combines deep, slow-touch techniques with conscious breathing and mindful movement. It's designed to release tension and spasms in the fascia, which can get restricted due to stress, injury, or emotional patterns. The goal is to not only relieve physical pain but also address the emotional and psychological factors that contribute to it, helping you feel more balanced and at ease.

How is MER different from a regular massage?

Unlike a passive massage, MER is a collaboration between you and the practitioner. While the practitioner applies deep, sensitive pressure, they will also guide you through breathwork and subtle movements to help release deep-seated tension. The work is focused on releasing the "holding patterns" in your body, rather than just kneading the muscles.

What can I expect during my first MER session?

Your first session typically begins with a consultation to discuss your specific pain points and goals. During the bodywork itself, the pace is slow and deliberate. You may be asked to participate actively by breathing or making small movements. While some tense areas may be sensitive, the work is done with a deep respect for your body, with the ultimate goal of discharging tension and easing pain. Afterward, you can expect to feel lighter, more relaxed, and more "at home" in your body.

How do I book an appointment?

Booking is easy! You can schedule your appointment online via my calendar. You can also WhatsApp/text me if that’s more convenient (+34695860552).

Do you accept same-day appointments?

Yes, same-day appointments are available based on availability. I recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time.

What should I expect during a session?

We will start with a check-in to discuss how you're feeling both physically and emotionally. We will then agree on a course of treatment, and I'll explain the process.

What should I wear during my session?

You can undress to your comfort level. You will be draped at all times to ensure your privacy.

How much do your sessions cost?

A one-hour session costs sixty-five Euro. Ninety minutes costs eighty-five Euro. I also offer packages of five sessions with a significant saving—just ask when you arrive.

Can I request a specific therapist?

It’s just me, Rob!

I do a lot of sports, can Myofascial Energetic Release help me?

Myofascial Energetic Release (MER) bodywork is a highly effective tool for athletes looking to improve their performance, prevent injuries, and speed up recovery. It works by addressing the body's fascial system—the web of connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, organs, and bones. When fascia becomes tight or restricted from intense training, it can limit movement and cause pain.

By using deep, slow pressure and mindful movement, MER helps to release these restrictions and restore the body's natural balance. Here’s how it can specifically help sportspeople:

Enhances Flexibility and Range of Motion

MER directly targets the fascial restrictions that limit your movement. By releasing these areas of tension, it improves the elasticity of the fascia, leading to a greater range of motion in your joints. This allows you to perform athletic movements more freely and efficiently, whether you're a runner, a swimmer, or a weightlifter.

Accelerates Recovery

Intense training and competition often lead to muscle soreness and stiffness. MER can significantly speed up the recovery process by releasing muscle knots and improving blood flow to the affected areas. This increased circulation helps to deliver essential nutrients and oxygen to your muscles while flushing out waste products, reducing soreness and allowing you to return to training sooner.

Prevents Injuries

Chronic tightness and fascial restrictions can cause muscle imbalances and place added stress on your joints, which increases the risk of injury. Regular MER sessions help to correct these imbalances and promote proper body alignment. By keeping your fascia pliable and healthy, you can proactively prevent common athletic injuries like strains, sprains, and tendonitis before they occur.

Improves Overall Performance

By addressing the underlying fascial tension, MER enhances overall muscle function and coordination. When your muscles and connective tissues are working optimally, you can generate more power, improve your endurance, and achieve better results. This makes MER a valuable part of any athlete's routine for maintaining peak physical condition and pushing their limits.

Do you offer couples' sessions?

I don’t.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

I understand that plans change. When you book, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link to cancel or reschedule your booking. If you're in doubt, just message or call me.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, I offer gift cards. They make the perfect gift for any occasion and can be purchased online or in person. Just fill out the form, and I will send you a digital voucher. You can request a voucher here.

How often should I get bodywork?

The frequency depends on your goals and lifestyle. For relaxation, once a month is common, but for specific issues like chronic pain, weekly or bi-weekly sessions may be more beneficial.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payment options, Revolut, and PayPal.

Do you accommodate special needs or medical conditions?

Yes, I aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Please inform me of any special needs or medical conditions when booking.
